Obituary Larry W. Lindner

 

Larry W. Lindner, 59 of Hanover, entered into God’s care surrounded by his family and friends, Monday, February 15, 2010 at the Hanover Hospital.  He was the husband of 31 yrs. to Margaret Lynn (Weaver) Lindner, Hanover.   

Born October 14, 1950 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of William and Doris (Swingler) Lindner, Sr. of Baltimore, MD.   

Mr. Lindner attended St. David’s UCC, Hanover.  He was employed as a police officer for the Maryland Transit Administration for 25 years retiring in 2008.  Mr. Lindner was a member of the MTA Honor Guard and the Maryland F.O.P.  He served as a trustee and also as an EMT for the Penn Twp. Volunteer Emergency services for five years.  Larry was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather.  He was also a fan of the Baltimore Ravens.   

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are 2 daughters and 3 sons; Kimberly Lindner; Kevin Lindner and his fiancé’ Amy Wentz, Erica Garrett and Cory Reichart all of Hanover; Brian Bankert, Spring Grove; 2 grandchidlren; Hailey and Ethan; 1 brother and 1 sister; William Lindner, Jr. and Catherine Linz both of Baltimore.  Also survived by Shadow, Teddy and Samantha.   

He was preceded in death by 1 sister; Joan Smith.   

A funeral to celebrate the life of Larry W. Lindner will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be Thursday 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 – 12:00 PM the time of service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.   

Memorial Contributions may be made to VNA of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331 or to the Penn Twp. Volunteer Emergency Services, 204 Clover Lane, Hanover, PA 17331.
